THE SEEKER
I am a native Kashmiri who has been living in the United Kingdom for many years. I’ve been a silent observer of unique and diverse human behaviours. I consider myself an observer of simple gestures of the universe and everything that exists inside.
Mobile photography and videography is something I use to present a unique perspective of people, places, and culture. I strive to capture the fleeting moments of simple yet important creations. I am always eager to learn new things.
Since my teenage years, I have always been an active voice for sustainable development, peacebuilding, and access to basic human rights at local, nation and international levels. A key way I play my part is by providing technical expertise to various institutions in the International Development and Humanitarian sector which I started over 15 years ago.
I was born and raised in a small town in Kashmir, at the foot of the mighty Himalayas Mountain Range. Naturally this has led to a huge love of hiking. To me, climbing feels as natural as walking. Kashmir has remained a disputed territory between India and Pakistan for over seven decades. My grandfather migrated from Indian administered Kashmir to Pakistan administered Kashmir back in the 1960s so I grew up seeing the first hand impact of occupation, forced migration and divide. This gave me a very strong urge from the very beginning to campaign for social justice and to work for empowering others at all levels.
My interest in film-making and photography keeps my weekends busy.
Promoting community cohesion for a sustainable positive change is something I like doing and I believe this is the goal of my life.
I believe my story is still being written…
